Multi-Academy Trust Proposal

July 1st 2017

We are pleased to announce that our six Compass Partnership schools: Alderwood, Deansfield, Halstow, Horn Park, South Rise and Willow Dene, became a multi-academy trust on 1st July 2017. We will continue to work in close partnership with the schools, and will join the multi-academy trust later next year. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and enhancing the quality of education for all our communities. Please see the Compass website for regular updates: http://compass-partnership.uk/

We are delighted to share with you our proposal document which sets out our proposed aims, principles and values, as well as the structure of the Compass Partnership as a multi-academy trust. We will be giving parents the opportunity at upcoming parents’ evenings to look through the document and provide us with feedback. Please also find in the attachments below a letter updating staff on the date of conversion, which will now be April 1st 2017 for Alderwood, Deansfield, Halstow, Horn Park, South Rise and Willow Dene, Wingfield’s conversion will still take place after the completion of our new build, as originally planned.

April 29th 2016:

We are pleased to share with you that the Department for Education has approved our applications to convert the seven schools in The Compass Partnership to academy status, and to proceed with forming a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). We will join the MAT once our new build project has been completed, and will continue to work in partnership with The Compass Schools in the lead up to this. We would like to thank staff, Governors, parents and carers for your engagement in the process so far.  We have produced our first monthly newsletter to keep you updated on the process as it progresses - see the "Attachments" section below.

March 14th 2016:

We are delighted to announce that following the end of our consultation period on whether we should apply to convert to academy status, forming a Multi-Academy Trust with the other schools in The Compass Partnership, that Governors have decided to proceed with applying to the Department for Education for an academy order. The Governing Bodies of all 7 of the Compass Schools were unanimous in making this decision. We will join the MAT once our new build project has been completed, and will continue to work in partnership with The Compass Schools in the lead up to this. We would like to thank staff for engaging with the process and would encourage you to continue to ask questions as we form our Multi-Academy Trust. We will be updating you in staff briefings on the process as it develops, which we do not anticipate will impact on your day to day roles of providing first class educational experiences for our children, whether it be in a teaching or support staff role.
